Colton's team placed 5th in State

The run off the ball games came to an end this evening. We lost for the 2nd time and were eliminated from the tournament. We played Philadelphia on Friday and lost 7-5. We came back on Saturday and played Washington county and won 15-2. We played this evening and lost 8-3. The boys played awesome and we are VERY proud of them. There record is 10-3--not bad for a group of kids that have only played together for a month. They are going to be able to go to a Mississippi Braves game and go on the field with the Braves players of there position for the National Anthem. They are very excited about this.
Robert comes home Tuesday and we are going on a mini vacation to Lafayette, Louisiana for the weekend. He got some safety awards so we are going to use them. We are excited to get away.
Mere's boys are going to go back to Oklahoma with my parents and spend some time there till school starts. They have been waiting for Allstars to be over--so now they can go.
I will write more later.

COLTON'S GOING TO STATE!!

Well, Colton's Allstar Baseball team is playing in the state championship on Friday. They went undefeated through district playoffs. This is the first time that this has happened at our ballpark in the 11yr old age group. We are all very excited about it. My parents are coming in from Oklahoma to watch the games. The team has played very well.

Well- to catch everyone up on the happening in the Schuckman household--
1st Robert's company was bought out by another offshore company and we were wondering for a while if he would still have a job, but he does at the moment and will have till sometime in 2008 as of now.....we will just wait and see.
2nd--Robert left to back offshore the 17th. We had a great time while he was home just hanging around the house---we do not get to do that very often. There were no domestics to report between the two us this go round--I think that we both get comfortable in our "own" world for the weeks that we are apart and sometimes it is an adjustment. I do love to see him and look forward to him coming home.
3rd--I did have a bit of domestics at my job--man oh man--I will not go into all of that but everything is working out okay now.
4th--Lara Sedar got married on Saturday and I am sad that I did not make it to DC for the wedding. I am sure it was beautiful.

Well, I we are off to the state tournament on Friday and are ready to play. I will keep you posted on what is going on.

I am officialy addicted!

Okay, Okay I will admit it--Lara has created a monster. I have just loved this idea of being able to write things on here and have others read it. I am able to express myself. I have signed my co worker, mother and sister up on here. I really am addicted to this. I have been wanting to keep some sort of history of the happenings of my life and the events in small town Mississippi.
Robert is excited about this as well. We hope that you will pass this blog along to those that you know who know us. We would love to hear from everyone.

Tomorrow starts Colton's Allstar baseball District games. We will be going about 1 1/2 hours away to watch his team play. He plays 1st base and pitches. All of Mere's boys are great athletes....I will have to let all know how the game turns out....Until then BYE

off the oilrig

I got off the oilrig today and I am sick as a dog. I am just grateful it is my week off instead of work. There is no worse feeling in the world than knowing you have to work 16 to 18 hours a day sick. They do not care if you are sick, they want their cookies! I would not want a sick cook cooking for me. I worked two weeks on my regular land rig by Houston TX and then went to a inland barge an hour south of New Orleans for a week. That is a small floating oil rig that drills for oil and gas in swamps, rivers and shallow water offshore. Offshore means the Gulf of Mexico if you are not familar with geography. Laura is starting to be like my mother because they do not mind how much me and my my dad works as long as we send the money home. It is alright with me because the more I work the more I get for allowance. I love the fact that now that I am married that I do not have the headaches of trying to pay my bills from a offshore oilrig. Laura is great about saving money and paying the bills and now with my job I can start traveling again. I do not want to get like the rest of these Mississippi people in MS and never leave this state. Please do not let Laura bury me in Mississippi!!!

I AM A LIGHTNING ROD

All I can say is you do not want me to be at your house when a storm comes.
A few weeks ago I was at work (working overtime) and a storm came in from no where--one minute sunny, the next storming. I was looking on the computer at the weather and all of a sudden---KAAABOOOOOMMMMM!! I thought I had been hit(I wasn't) but could have swore that I was. I got the guys to go get in the bus and I was FREAKING OUT!!! We had had tornado drills, fire drills--but never oh my gosh lightning drill. I put them on the bus I walked around the house to see if there were flames coming out anywhere--about that time I hear the fire truck coming down the road--I am thinking--this is it--my stuff is in there and it is gone. Well, the truck goes next door and I continue looking at the house--well--there was a huge geyser of water on the side of the house shooting over the fence. I guess the lightning blew it out. Well, we are not allowed to let the guys go back in until the house has been checked so I went across the street--got a fireman --and they came and checked the house out. We had to turn off the main water line--so no water for 24 hours-----in a group home-----not a good idea.
It got 2 TV's and the computer. I thought it had me--but luckily I was safe-----

The next weekend I was at home and the same thing happenend--the sun was shining--then KAAABOOOM! I was on the computer and trying to get off--well --I now have a new computer. The first computer I bought did not work properly so I had to pack it back up and get another one--but we are all good now--SO when the sky gets dark--I go in a room with no electronics AT ALL!!!!! I hate storms anywy now I really hate them....until next time

4TH of July at the Group Home!

That is right--I worked Tuesday and Wednesday. HMM--needless to say we did not do any fireworks. I have really enjoyed finding people through this blogging that I have failed to keep in touch with over the years. I miss my Virginia family and need to get back up there and visit.

Robert is working over a week--so by the time he gets home it will have been 3 weeks since I have seen him. I used to enjoy the time he was away--it was my alone time, but I am starting to miss him more and more.

My next entry will be to tell the tale of the new computer and lightning chasing me--until then.....bye bye!

GRAND JURY DUTY

A month ago I was called to be on the Grand Jury. This week I had to report to do the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. I am not sure if you know exactly what a GRAND JURY does--but here it goes.
First, we are to serve for 6 months--meeting from time to time during that 6 months.
We hear felony cases.
So--the DA brings the cases before us and we(as a jury) decide if there is enough evidence to go to trial or make an indictment.
I will be so happy when my time is up. I sat for 2 days last week and cried my eyes out.
You see, we are not allowed to discuss the happening of the meetings for this 6 months, so you go home with all of this stuff you have heard all day and try to deal with it.
There are some bad things that happen in this world and we always think that it does not happen around us--BUT IT DOES!!

I wish you were still a "Story"

This is something that Robert said when Lara came to visit. We had been driving ALL DAY and Robert had told the same story hmm....not sure how many times, I was correcting him and he just popped out and said--"I wish you were still a STORY". Lara thought that was so funny and it has stuck ever since. I still give Robert a hard time because sometimes--he can not remember what he remembers--that is another one of his comments that I will leave for a later date.

My sister and her family live here and we spend a great deal of time with them. She has 4 boys and is expecting again--we are praying for a girl--. I love to watch the kids play sports. ok well--enough for now--until later......
