A NEW YEAR!

So much has happened this year--where to start. Since I was not as diligent in keeping up the blog this past year-maybe I will be better in 2010. Robert lost his job in October, I lost my job in July. I enrolled in college for the first time in my life--at age 38--YIKES!
I am attending Pearl River Community College and hopefully will be in the Respiratory Therapy program after this spring. Robert recently got a job and is leaving tomorrow to start. This is all GREAT news.
I have been able to reconnect with many dear friends and am loving every minute of it. I have made some new friends and that is always fun!

I will write more later...until then have a great day!

A New Year!!

I know that I am a little late on updating my blog. I hope that everyone will forgive me for the delay. I still do not have my camera with me tonight at work so I will have to add pictures later--i promise they are coming......

Robert is still working for the moment. We are always grateful for the time he gets--he is working on getting something else and hopefully that will come through soon.

I am still working my job and that is fine. I have been very sick lately. I rarely get sick--so this had been hard for me. I am better now and starting to feel like a human again.

On the 16th of January we had Mallorie's 1st birthday party. It was an event that is for sure--i will post pics this weekend.

On the 17th of January Meredith's 3 oldest boys were baptised. Festus, Colton and Cord. Robert baptised them and it was a special night for all of us. My mother was here for the two events and it was nice to have her here. The boys are very excited about church and scouts. They have a GREAT young men's leader and he is taking up time with them to help them. Brother Green will be leaving for Iraq in July and the boys are trying to learn as much from him as they can. He is not from here--he and his wife moved in from Memphis and I truly believe it was for my nephews. The Lord does have a plan--we just get in the way sometimes because we do not listen. I will be posting pics soon--until then....have a good one!!!

Need all the help I can get!!!

Check it out!!!

WOW!!! It's been awhile

I am not sure where to begin. There is so much that has happened to us--let me first start by saying that we are on a week to week basis with Robert's job. Since the election--the oil field is backing off a good bit and laying people off or just shutting down all together. We are lucky in the fact that he is still going to work, we just do not know where he will be heading out to each time. It has been a different place since November.

My van DIED and we had to buy a new vehicle. We purchased a Kia Sorento. I love it but am just nervous about the payment and the fact that times are not so good.

My nephews are getting baptized the 3rd of January. The oldest 3 are 14, 13 and 12. It is time and they are excited about it. I am glad that this is all happening. They are all in Young Mens and seem to like the activities and fellowship they get there. Clay will be 8 in June and is VERY excited to get baptized. Mallorie will be 1 on January 4th.

OH--I almost forgot--we got a foot of snow on the 11th of this month. I will post pictures soon--when I think about updating my blog I am at work and the pics are at home--ugh!! I will do better I promise.

I will post pics next entry---until then.....

Is this right?

Meredith and I were in town shopping and decided that we would eat lunch at Arby's. We walked in the door and the girl behind the register(Gwen) turned to her co-worker and said "You can wait on them." The co-worker came over and asked to take our order, then (Gwen) went towards the back of the kitchen and yelled--OBAMA!!!! My sister and I had McCain/Palin buttons on our shirts.

(The last I checked it was a free country to express ourselves.)

I asked for the managers number and I was walking out (Gwen) came from behind the counter and started yelling at me--I do not take kindly to this kind of treatment. This was uncalled for and discrimination if you ask me. I just hope and pray that Gwen's actions are not a sign of things to come.

Needless to say I will not be eating at Arby's in Columbia, MS.

UGH!!!!!

WARNING!!!!!! I will be ranting!!!!!!

This election had got me in an uproar!!! I find it hard to believe that people will not search and decide for themselves who is the best candidate!!! They both have websites and then you can also go to snopes.com where they have clarified alot of the media's attacks on the candidates to tell you if things are true or not!!

The media is CLEARLY liberal. They always have been and always will be. They want all the money they can get. They try to persuade you to their "way" of thinking.

I say decide for yourself WITHOUT the medias help.

We have brains--use them for good!!!

MCCAIN/PALIN 2008

Okay-Okay I am not the political type AT ALL!! This has never been my scene. I just listen and vote how I feel like I should. I know that some of you will find it hard to believe that I do not voice my opinion on this matter--I know I voice my opinion on most things--but this area is just not one of them. I have to say that I am scared to death for November to get here.

Just a few thoughts of my own that I will share here--
1. If Obama wins-we will be fighting a war here on US soil-and children will be drafted to fight the fight. The war was started on 9-11-01 and we answered back--
2. If Obama wins--we will lose what retirement we do have and lose more money month to month in taxes.
3. If Obama wins--my husband will be out of a job--therefore I will need government assistance and all of you will be helping to do that with the increased taxes you will be paying.
4. Living in a small town has it down falls--but it also has some advantages. I love that fact that I go anywhere in town and I always know someone. They ask about my family and myself. This life will be lost if Obama wins-because of several things--the first being that small town businesses will no longer exist and the second because if small town businesses go--so do the small towns.
5. I can say that I have ever been so interested in an election until now--I think about my father and the fact that he served in the Vietnam War and was drafted to do so. I have no doubt in my mind that a draft would be called in to affect if Obama is elected.
6. Last but not least I am proud to be an American and proud of this country. I support the troops and the mission they are on. I am grateful that the war is there and not here--lets keep it that way!

WE MADE IT!

Well, we are alive and well this morning. It was a long, long, long day yesterday. Gustav is just about gone and I am so very happy. Robert and I went to my sister's house at 8AM yesterday morning-it was already raining and windy. The weather only got worse as the day progressed. We did keep power all day which I am very grateful for. We stayed at my sister's last night. The last of the heavy rain came through around 1AM. I did not sleep very much last night or the night before-so I am grateful to be home and hopefully will get some sleep.

Robert is checking to see when he will leave for work--I will work Thursday and Friday of this week which I am happy about. His rig is in Marshall, Texas which is where Gustav is over at the moment. If he has to go to work now he will be driving right into the storm--so we are hoping he will not have to go till tomorrow and give Gustav time to move on out.

Thanks to everyone who called to check on us and make sure we were fine. I appreciate it more than you will ever know. I am off to sleep for a bit--I will write more soon!

UPDATE!

Well it has been quite some time since I wrote on this blog.
We have been very busy and I know that is no excuse.
We went to Oklahoma the first of August for a week. At the beginning of the trip-3 hours in--outside Monroe, LA--my van decided that something was wrong and slowed down to 40mph. I started freaking out and we just stayed on the trail to pick up Robert. My van started acting a bit better so I was just going slow and easy with the poor thing. We get to Robert's rig and pick him up, use the restroom, let the dog out for a stretch--YES!!! the poor van was loaded down with people and animals. The van had the big grey thing on the top to hold luggage--me, my sister, Bella, Mallorie and Buddie--the coon dog in a carrier. There was no room for anything else. Robert gets in and going to be big macho man and fix my car(note-Robert is not mechanically inclined) push on the gas and the car just bogged down and went to squealing--and so did I. I made him get in the passenger seat and he stayed there the rest of the way--I cried the rest of the way--it was a great trip!!!
We did have a little family reunion--I will post pics later. My dad looked at my van there and put all kinds of stuff in it so we made it back. I still need to get it to the shop.
We have a lot to do and not enough time to do it! This is an update for now-I will add pics later! Bella did get to go with us and had a great time. My family in Oklahoma had never seen her or Mallorie before-it was fun to take them there.

Trip to Arkansas

We recently went to Arkansas to visit Robert's family. His mother had a stroke and we were checking in on that situation. We went over Memorial weekend--I have pictures and will post some later. We visited some cemeteries that his family were buried in. I remember going to the cemetery on time as a child. This is the first time in my adult life that I have went to a cemetery on Memorial weekend. It was a touching event for me. I had never met any of the people that we "visited", still in some weird way felt connected to them. We did get the chance to go to the old farm house and look around the place. I learned many stories and tales of Ms. Ruby's childhood. She grew up in Neosho, Mo. It is a REALLY small town just inside the Missouri line. I hope that from here on out I will be able to pay respect to my loved ones that have passed on during this time. Just a little thought I had and wanted to share.

Update Needed!

Lara said that I needed to post something on here--I feel like nothing is going on in our lives--so what to post. I have pics that I need to put on here--but will have to do that another time. Robert and I are leaving on Wednesday morning to visit his family in Arkansas. I am excited to go and see them. His mother had a stroke about 6 weeks ago--she is recovering fine and no damage done to any organs so that is good. We feel like we need to just go visit anyway. The last time we went was at Thanksgiving--so it is time.

That is about all that is going on in our lives. Robert and I work and work to pay bills! I am sure that is the way it is with everyone--sometimes I wonder if there is more to life.......or I just am on the wrong road. Oh well--I will deal with what I have--as I am sure everyone else is as well. I hope all is well with everyone and will post more later--

My color is GREEN!

Take this test!
You're green, the color of growth and vigor. Good-hearted and giving, you have a knack for finding and bringing out the best in people. Green is the most down-to-earth color in the spectrum — reliable and trustworthy. People know they can count on you to be around in times of need, since your concern for people is genuine and sincere. You take pride in being a good friend. For you, success is measured in terms of personal achievement and growth, not by status or position. Rare as emeralds, greens are wonderful, natural people. It truly is your color!

I got this from Melissa's blog. This is so weird to me-all of these tests that you can take on the internet and they seem to peg you right off--so weird!

Julie Radomski

Well, I am sitting here at work very sad--my dear friend and boss Julie had a massive heart attack and passed away last night around 11:30pm. As some of you know she just buried her husband on the 5th of January. She was struggling with his death and she seemed to be more and more depressed as the days went by. I know she got all of her personal stuff in order . I just went and witnessed her will last Tuesday. I am still in shock and wish it was not real. I got home from the hospital at 2am. The guys at Haven House are not sure that it is real and are very sad that Ms. Julie is not coming back. The funeral will be on Friday and the visitation on Thursday. We will take the guys to the funeral home for the visitation. I just felt I needed to write this down--I am sorry to share this with everyone but this is good or me. She always called herself Robert's 2nd wife. We would joke around all the time about that. She went to Mardi Gras with us this year and we had a great time. She will truly be missed.

NEED TO POST!

I am needing to post pictures and let yall know what has been going on in our lives. We have been busy as usual-it seems like the week that Robert is home from work we are super busy. I am just as busy when he is gone. I always find time to post when I am at work-but do not have a scanner or camera card with me--so needless to say I will have to make another post at home. We are throwing around the idea of Alaska in August-I will let all know how those plans are coming. We loved going there last year and would love to go back--just need to see how everything plays out.
As for the adoption--it is a no go. We are okay with it and know that whatever is suppose to happen--WILL!! We have 20 nieces and nephews to keep us quite busy and use our money as well:) We are ready for it to be spring so we can get outside and enjoy our place. I will post pictures later--

Crazy Crazy Crazy life I lead!

I am not sure where to begin-there are so many things that are going on right now in my life that it is CRAZY!!

Robert has not been on his normal rig in quite sometime-so his schedule varies from week to week--which I do not like at all. I have been busy at work and when I am not at work I am busy with the nieces and nephews.

We took Bella this weekend to get her pictures done--when we get them back I will put some on here--she should be a model--and did I forget to mention that she looks just like her Lala?!!
(Just kidding)--it was funny though!!
The Blockers are always busy--the 2 oldest boys play baseball for the school and start games this week--the 2 younger boys are in a pageant this weekend at the school--and that is keeping everyone busy. Mallorie is spoiled as spoiled can be--Meredith and I pierced her ears on Valentine's Day. She is getting big and smiling at you when you talk to her.
As far as the adoption--I still can not get a hold of the mother so I am not going to worry about anything--I know what I need to do if or when she calls me. If we are suppose to have a child something will happen-I just have to have that hope!
I hope all is well with everyone and will write more later.

So much for blogging more!

I know, I know I said that I would do better at blogging--but what can I say. SORRY!
My life has not slowed down any at all--we had Mardi Gras-which is a whole other blog topic for sure--with pictures. My boss came back to work and trying to get all of the end of the year thigns done plus.....
They are remodeling my workplace and it is a mess--so I have been helping to get it all back in order.
As far as the adoption--well here it goes--The dad has rights in the state of Arkansas so even though he has no involment in the childs life-he still will have to sign his rights away. The problem with that is he is in jail for who knows how long. The other BIG hold up is that I can not get in contact with the mother at the moment. I do know that the baby is a girl and due the end of March---there is not a lot I can do legally until the baby is 3 days old---SOOOO--we are in a waiting period. I will update on this situation as news comes in......
Robert is working 7 days on and 7 days off and we seem to like that for now. I am very busy with Bella these days. She had been with us every weekend for the last month. We enjoy seeing her and she tells me that when summer gets here I am taking her to Oklahoma to ride PawPaw's horse--so I guess we will be making a trip to Mom and Dad's. I will write more later---
