A NEW YEAR!

So much has happened this year--where to start. Since I was not as diligent in keeping up the blog this past year-maybe I will be better in 2010. Robert lost his job in October, I lost my job in July. I enrolled in college for the first time in my life--at age 38--YIKES!
I am attending Pearl River Community College and hopefully will be in the Respiratory Therapy program after this spring. Robert recently got a job and is leaving tomorrow to start. This is all GREAT news.
I have been able to reconnect with many dear friends and am loving every minute of it. I have made some new friends and that is always fun!

I will write more later...until then have a great day!

A New Year!!

I know that I am a little late on updating my blog. I hope that everyone will forgive me for the delay. I still do not have my camera with me tonight at work so I will have to add pictures later--i promise they are coming......

Robert is still working for the moment. We are always grateful for the time he gets--he is working on getting something else and hopefully that will come through soon.

I am still working my job and that is fine. I have been very sick lately. I rarely get sick--so this had been hard for me. I am better now and starting to feel like a human again.

On the 16th of January we had Mallorie's 1st birthday party. It was an event that is for sure--i will post pics this weekend.

On the 17th of January Meredith's 3 oldest boys were baptised. Festus, Colton and Cord. Robert baptised them and it was a special night for all of us. My mother was here for the two events and it was nice to have her here. The boys are very excited about church and scouts. They have a GREAT young men's leader and he is taking up time with them to help them. Brother Green will be leaving for Iraq in July and the boys are trying to learn as much from him as they can. He is not from here--he and his wife moved in from Memphis and I truly believe it was for my nephews. The Lord does have a plan--we just get in the way sometimes because we do not listen. I will be posting pics soon--until then....have a good one!!!

WOW!!! It's been awhile

I am not sure where to begin. There is so much that has happened to us--let me first start by saying that we are on a week to week basis with Robert's job. Since the election--the oil field is backing off a good bit and laying people off or just shutting down all together. We are lucky in the fact that he is still going to work, we just do not know where he will be heading out to each time. It has been a different place since November.

My van DIED and we had to buy a new vehicle. We purchased a Kia Sorento. I love it but am just nervous about the payment and the fact that times are not so good.

My nephews are getting baptized the 3rd of January. The oldest 3 are 14, 13 and 12. It is time and they are excited about it. I am glad that this is all happening. They are all in Young Mens and seem to like the activities and fellowship they get there. Clay will be 8 in June and is VERY excited to get baptized. Mallorie will be 1 on January 4th.

OH--I almost forgot--we got a foot of snow on the 11th of this month. I will post pictures soon--when I think about updating my blog I am at work and the pics are at home--ugh!! I will do better I promise.

I will post pics next entry---until then.....

Is this right?

Meredith and I were in town shopping and decided that we would eat lunch at Arby's. We walked in the door and the girl behind the register(Gwen) turned to her co-worker and said "You can wait on them." The co-worker came over and asked to take our order, then (Gwen) went towards the back of the kitchen and yelled--OBAMA!!!! My sister and I had McCain/Palin buttons on our shirts.

(The last I checked it was a free country to express ourselves.)

I asked for the managers number and I was walking out (Gwen) came from behind the counter and started yelling at me--I do not take kindly to this kind of treatment. This was uncalled for and discrimination if you ask me. I just hope and pray that Gwen's actions are not a sign of things to come.

Needless to say I will not be eating at Arby's in Columbia, MS.

UGH!!!!!

WARNING!!!!!! I will be ranting!!!!!!

This election had got me in an uproar!!! I find it hard to believe that people will not search and decide for themselves who is the best candidate!!! They both have websites and then you can also go to snopes.com where they have clarified alot of the media's attacks on the candidates to tell you if things are true or not!!

The media is CLEARLY liberal. They always have been and always will be. They want all the money they can get. They try to persuade you to their "way" of thinking.

I say decide for yourself WITHOUT the medias help.

We have brains--use them for good!!!

MCCAIN/PALIN 2008

Okay-Okay I am not the political type AT ALL!! This has never been my scene. I just listen and vote how I feel like I should. I know that some of you will find it hard to believe that I do not voice my opinion on this matter--I know I voice my opinion on most things--but this area is just not one of them. I have to say that I am scared to death for November to get here.

Just a few thoughts of my own that I will share here--
1. If Obama wins-we will be fighting a war here on US soil-and children will be drafted to fight the fight. The war was started on 9-11-01 and we answered back--
2. If Obama wins--we will lose what retirement we do have and lose more money month to month in taxes.
3. If Obama wins--my husband will be out of a job--therefore I will need government assistance and all of you will be helping to do that with the increased taxes you will be paying.
4. Living in a small town has it down falls--but it also has some advantages. I love that fact that I go anywhere in town and I always know someone. They ask about my family and myself. This life will be lost if Obama wins-because of several things--the first being that small town businesses will no longer exist and the second because if small town businesses go--so do the small towns.
5. I can say that I have ever been so interested in an election until now--I think about my father and the fact that he served in the Vietnam War and was drafted to do so. I have no doubt in my mind that a draft would be called in to affect if Obama is elected.
6. Last but not least I am proud to be an American and proud of this country. I support the troops and the mission they are on. I am grateful that the war is there and not here--lets keep it that way!
